FREE GeoTrax DVD
If you have a son, this offer is GREAT for him. My son absolutely LOVES GeoTrax. He got a huge set for Christmas from his grandparents, which he plays with quite often. In it, came a DVD with 2 cartoon episodes, which he watches over and over again. Luckily, there is a new DVD available. You can sign up for it by going here, and it's completely FREE!

Brag
I have to take a minute to write this quick post about my son, because he totally floored me this morning on the way to daycare.
He'a a HUGE fan of trucks, any kind of truck really, but especially fire trucks/ambulances. We were talking about fire trucks this morning, and I asked him how we called the fire trucks, fully expecting him to ask me "How?" back as his answer. Nope...he said "9-1-1" My jaw dropped to the ground, and then I grinned ear to ear, telling him how proud I was of him, and asked who taught him that. I figured they must have discussed it at daycare, but nope, he said his daddy told him. Then, we drove by a billboard that had the numbers 2-1-1 on there, and he pointed and told me that was 9-1-1, so I had to correct him, but was still excited that he recognized the numbers.
Now I guess I need to teach him our address just in case he ever does have to call 9-1-1.

*GASP* I can't believe I did that!
Seriously, I have a confession to make: Today, I bought something I knew I had a coupon for, but didn't use the coupon (because it was at home, 150 miles away). Yes, that's right, I said it...Phew, I feel better now (but only just a little).
My son has been dealing with some chronic constipation issues for about 2 weeks now. We stopped diluting his apple juice, thinking that would solve it...it didn't. Then, I tried putting Karo syrup in his juice, which worked for about 1 poop, but then he was back to "bunny pellets" So, today, before we got back in the car to travel home from our overnight vacation, I walked to the drug store & purchased some Metamucil to put in his cup. It was on sale for $5.99 and I knew at home I had a $1 coupon I could be using, but HAD to have it, so I just sucked it up & made the purchase. I rationalized it to myself that it was OK not to use the coupon, because at least I would still get to submit it for the Caregiver's Marketplace rebate.
If you didn't think I have issues before, no doubt you think that now!

For the love of coupons!
First, I must apologize for my lack of posting this week. Lucas has been sick since late Sunday night, though he seems to be on the mend today. Please pray that Caroline & I are spared (DH started this mess).
You might remember a post I did a while ago about a free subscription to Lego magazine...well, Lucas got his first copy in the mail yesterday & he thought he was hot stuff! This morning, he was laying on the couch looking through it again, and came to those little tear out/send in cards, and shouted "Coupons! For me! I love coupons, mommy!" Then, later he was sitting at my desk, cutting a piece of paper, saying it was his coupons. It makes me smile, knowing I've passed my love of coupons onto him.

Like Santa?
This morning while laying in the bed cuddling, my (almost) 3 year old son, Lucas, rolled over to me and told me I was just like Santa. When I proceeded to ask him why, his response was: "Because you're big and fat!" Boy, was I sorry I asked.

A tear in my eye
Our doggy died on Labor Day. We're not sure if he was bitten by a snake (we'd seen a few copperheads around recently), or if he ate something he shouldn't have (ie poison). Well, we explained to Lucas that Scraps was in Heaven. Of course, we got the string of "Why" questions when we told him this. His daddy buried Scraps & made a cross to mark his grave in the back yard. Occassionally, Lucas will peer out the back window & mention it, but not recently.
Well, the past 2 mornings, my poor son has whined while getting into the car because he wants to know where Scraps is. You see, Lucas dumped out the remaining portion of his McDonald's dinner on Monday evening, and it's still sitting in the yard, where if Scraps were still with us, he'd have gobbled it up as Lucas was dumping it.
It breaks my heart to see my little boy want his doggy back so badly. He was just getting to the age where they played together. Maybe for Christmas Santa will bring him a puppy....

Yucky
Lucas must think I'm Yucky...he put an entire sheet of Mr Yuk stickers on my arm, and not just once. He took them off & put them back on later. Maybe he's trying to tell me something?

Backseat driver
My darling little boy, Lucas, is already too much of a backseat driver for my own liking. Yesterday, he was ever so politely asking for mommy to hand him a book (which happened to be in the floor in front of his car seat)....happy to oblige, I handed him the book, but as I was doing so, I ever so slightly crossed the yellow line (no worries, we were on a pretty quiet road & there was no traffic in sight). He did nothing but look at me and say, "Mommy, you not driving good"

Doesn't take much
Apparently it doesn't take much at all to impress my 2.5 year old son. One night last week for dinner, I cooked breakfast (scraple, bacon, eggs & hubby did the french toast). When Lucas was eating his scraple, he looked at me and said "Mommy, you did good. It's yummy. Good job!" I couldn't help but chuckle. However, for those who don't know me, cooking isn't my forte by ANY means (I've been known to burn tea bags--more than once--by boiling the water completely out of them because I put them on & get doing something else & forget about what I was doing to begin with), which is what made it so funny.
