"Girl Day"

The guys went off fishing together early this morning, so Caroline & I took advantage of this and had a "girl day" Our "girl day" consisted of breakfast at McDonald's drive through (apple juice & hash brown for her, bacon/egg/cheese bagel for me), a trip to the farmer's market for some fresh veggies, a stroll through the local flea market to check out the yard sale goodies available, and then a short trip to Walmart for a few groceries.

At the farmer's market, we managed to get some fresh green beans, sweet potatoes & some tomatoes for daddy. Caroline had taken her own brown bag to put her goodies in, and got a little upset when the man handed me a plastic bag with the veggies in it, so I had to remove the tomatoes so she could carry her yummies. I've already cut the sweet potatoes up to make them into candid sweet potatoes for dinner tonight (not everyone here likes them, so that just means more for me!).

We rocked the flea market this morning, which excited me! We got a new (to us) umbrella stroller for $3. We were really in need of one since our old one pretty much went ka-plooey last weekend. I got some brand new Purex-3-in-1 laundry sheets for $2, 4 Disney books for 25c each, and this adorable snow man hanging for only a quarter!

Walmart was a quick trip, no more than half an hour...Good thing, because it looks like I wore little miss out! Notice the half-eaten doughnut by her hand...she ate all the icing & sprinkles off the top before heading off to dream land--Mommy's girl for sure!

Winner!

A few weeks ago, I won a blog contest for some girly hairbows from Diana. I was SO super excited, because Caroline is finally getting enough hair to do something with, if I can get her to sit still long enough.

The site from which I won the bows from was Flowerz In Her Hair, which you can find under the "Links I Like" section. I had $20 to spend, and I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had picking out the bows I was going to buy. She has such a large variety of designs, and at a GREAT price, too!

I wanted to have a cute picture of Caroline with one of her "hair pretties" in, but I can't seem to get her to leave them alone long enough after I clip them in to snap a picture....soon, I promise. In the mean time, here are stock photos of a few of the ones I won!

Almost Spring!

Yesterday was such a BEAUTIFUL day! We took full advantage of it & let the kids play outside while hubby & I worked in picking up the yard a little bit. Here are some pics of the kids playing:

Say a little prayer

This morning, Caroline goes in to have tubes put in her ears & some allergy testing done. Poor girl has had a constant (almost) ear infection since November, so hopefully this will help to put an end to that. She's only supposed to be "out" for 15 minutes, but I will be a nervous wreck, no doubt. I've been told that kids generally bounce back pretty quickly after this type of procedure, and she should be ready & able to go back to daycare tomorrow, so let's hope it rings true for us. Please say a little prayer that everything goes smoothly & helps to prevent any further ear infections.

Caroline the Escapee

Recently I caught this video of Caroline "escaping" the gate. We have to have it off the ground some or her brother can reach over & undo it. Apparently this day, it was off the ground a little too much.

Excited!!!

I'm SOOOOO excited! I saw a post on a local community board yesterday in regards to some fall/winter clothes for my baby girl. I was able to get the lady down from her $35 asking price to $20, if I came to pick them up. I was excited, but not nearly as excited as I was once I got them home & out of the bag to be washed. The 2 trashbags she gave me have almost single handedly outfitted my daughter for this winter! And these clothes are absolutely ADORABLE & in EXCELLENT condition. I didn't find one piece in there with stains on it or rips/holes in it. They're in the dryer as I type, and since it's supposed to be pretty chilly tomorrow, Miss Caroline might even get to wear one of her new outfits to "school"!

Tomorrow night's the BIG night! It's "Showtime in Salisbury" with a live boxing match to be aired on Showtime, and I'm going to be attending. While I'm not a fan of boxing (really, why would you want to let someone beat the crap out of you, or you do the same to them?? Sorry, I just don't see what "fun" that might be), I'm very excited to be going to see local Fernando Guerrero go for his 10th win, and remain undefeated. This was my birthday present from my folks, and we're lucky enough to be going with my little brother & his girlfriend, to celebrate his own birthday that very night.
