Salisbury’s biggest discount shopping event
One weekend only – March 15-17, 2012

Celebrating their 11th semi-annual consignment event, Coastal Kids Consignment and their 50+ volunteers help area families get great merchandise for a deal, diligently assisting over 125 families to make money selling items and also support multiple charities by donating items at the end of the event. This year, financial and in-kind donations will be distributed to Life Crisis of Salisbury, MD; the March of Dimes of Salisbury, MD; the Eastern Shore Pregnancy Center of Salisbury, MD and several other Churches and local shelters.

Gearing up for summer fun and warm weather activities while finding quality brand and designer label kids and baby items can put a crunch on any family’s budget. Coastal Kids Consignment has brought together thousands of ways to get what you need at a fraction of the price. ThredUP--online kids clothing swap

I've posted about ThredUP before, but if you haven't already done so, you have GOT to check this site out! Did you know that the average family can save over $500 a year just by swapping clothes your child(ren) has outgrown?!

Since joining in November (2010), I have sent 16 boxes of clothes & toys that my kids have outgrown to another family for their child to enjoy. I have chosen 10 boxes for my family to receive, and have also been able to donate some of my "picks" to military families and other families in need after some of the recent natural disasters in our country.

Right now, ThredUP is offering a $5 credit when you post a box of gently loved books for someone to choose from. This is on top of getting your first box FREE! Plus, you can send a new mom a box for only $2.95! It's FREE to join, and costs you nothing to send your boxes when someone chooses them.

What are you waiting for, check it out!!!!

ThredUP kids clothing swap

Recently I joined an online "community" which allows you to swap children's clothes at a super cheap price. The community is called ThredUP. Basically, once your child(ren) outgrow clothes, you build a box of clothes: all tops, all bottoms, mixed tops & bottoms. The clothes must be within 1 size up of each other, for example, 24m-2T or 4T-5T. Basic details about the clothes are entered, such as size, brands, # items, colors, seasons, sizes.

You pay $5 + shipping (appx $10) for each box. But, for every box you choose to receive, you must list a box for someone else to pick from. There is no cost for you to send a box when chosen, even the boxes used for shipping are sent to you free of charge.

If you think you might be interested, use this link to sign up for FREE & get started! Once you sign up, be sure to "like" them on Facebook so you can get in on all the extra conversations!

eShakti clothing review & giveaway

I was recently sent a item of my choice by eShakti Women's Clothes to review and post about. After browsing the website, which had so much to choose from, I finally decided on item # CL0017143, Pintuck front bow tied tee in tomato red. Here are the details from their website: Ribbon ties grace the front of a lovely blouse cut from sheer, burnout knit. Pintucking details the front, releasing to create a soft finish below the bodice. Short puffed sleeves are pulled in by thin banded cuffs. Below hip length, cotton/polyester/spandex, handwash.

When I opened the package, which was shipped in a timely manner, I found a surprise (which we'll get to later), in addition to the shirt. Each item was packaged individually, so as to protect it from weather elements in case of some box mishap while in transit. I couldn't wait to get the shirt out of the package, it was such a pretty color...I will say the first words out of my mouth were about how thin it is. I will definately need to wear a camisole underneath, unless of course I want to show my "girls" to everyone who sees me. Other than that, I have no complaints. I showed it to hubby, who commented on how he liked the color and that it "looked like something I would wear" I smiled, because that's definately considered a comment in my book. Did I mention how soft it feels? I can't keep my hands off of it. Anytime I can pick something out online and put it on and it feels like "me" I'm more than pleased! Overall, I say this piece is a winner.

eShakti is not just any women's clothing & accessory online shop...it's for women size 0-26W, and offers buyers the option to personalize their purchases to fit perfectly. When an item is added to your cart, additional (optional) questions are asked in order to help design the item to your specifications, such as sleeve length, neckline, tunic length, etc. I know of no where else that allows for such customization...what you see is what you get at other retailers. There is a nominal fee of $15 for any (and all) customizations you wish to do, but in order to ensure your new clothes will fit perfectly, this is a small price to pay if you ask me. Of course, if for some reason you do not love your new items, you can still return them for a full refund (minus the $15 customization fee). If you're like me, I can be one size in one brand, and a totally different size in another brand, which makes shopping for clothes online almost impossible, especially when it's a company you have never shopped with before. Knowing that when I order clothes they will be tailored to my measurements, which almost assures it will fit perfectly, is priceless!

I highly recommend checking out eShakti for your next clothing purchase, be it casual or formal in style. OK, on to the surprise, because I know you are all wondering about it...Also included in my shipment was a "Peacock feather brass bangle bracelet" (#CL0018277). I am offering it as a giveaway to one lucky reader!

To enter, simply leave a comment on this post with the item name & number that you would get if you were making a purchase from eShakti. This giveaway will end Saturday, March 20 at 8pm, and a winner will be chosen via a random number generator, and posted on Sunday, March 21. For extra entries, you can do each of the following (if you already do them, please leave a comment saying so to make sure you are counted for that option):

Excited!!!

I'm SOOOOO excited! I saw a post on a local community board yesterday in regards to some fall/winter clothes for my baby girl. I was able to get the lady down from her $35 asking price to $20, if I came to pick them up. I was excited, but not nearly as excited as I was once I got them home & out of the bag to be washed. The 2 trashbags she gave me have almost single handedly outfitted my daughter for this winter! And these clothes are absolutely ADORABLE & in EXCELLENT condition. I didn't find one piece in there with stains on it or rips/holes in it. They're in the dryer as I type, and since it's supposed to be pretty chilly tomorrow, Miss Caroline might even get to wear one of her new outfits to "school"!

Tomorrow night's the BIG night! It's "Showtime in Salisbury" with a live boxing match to be aired on Showtime, and I'm going to be attending. While I'm not a fan of boxing (really, why would you want to let someone beat the crap out of you, or you do the same to them?? Sorry, I just don't see what "fun" that might be), I'm very excited to be going to see local Fernando Guerrero go for his 10th win, and remain undefeated. This was my birthday present from my folks, and we're lucky enough to be going with my little brother & his girlfriend, to celebrate his own birthday that very night.
