Pork in the Park is May 9^th-11^th this year, at WinterPlace Park in Salisbury.  This is a KCBS BBQ cook off event, so the food is absolutely divine!

Frugals winter 2014

Happy New Year!  In case the frigid temperatures have kept you indoors, the Winter 2014 edition of Frugals is now available, and as usual, there are TONS of great coupons and offers to be had!

Despite the fact that I’m supposed to be eating healthy, the front cover advertiser, Dairy Queen, has my mouth watering for a thick & creamy “Blizzard.”  Banana cream pie is my favorite flavor.  What’s yours?  On the inside of the front cover, there are coupons for BOGO FREE double cheeseburgers and Orange Julius drinks.  The coupons can be redeemed at the North Salisbury location (next to Bob Evans) or Nanticoke Road (by the Rite Aid & Food Lion shopping center). 
Old West Steakhouse is the back cover advertiser, and their meals pictured are enough to make your mouth water, too.  Save $3 off your total check with their coupon.  Maybe you got a LORA gift certificate for Christmas & aren’t sure where to spend it—why not right here?

In case you haven’t heard, the film industry is eliminating the use of 35mm films effective immediately.  You may think that this doesn’t impact you in any way, but if you have ever been to a movie at the Mar-Va Theater in Pocomoke, it does!  In order to upgrade their equipment to industry standards, they are being required to raise a significant amount of money in a short amount of time, or close their doors.  Until the equipment is upgraded, movies can not be shown.  But, that doesn’t mean that they’re not featuring anything.  Check out Pirates of the Chesapeake ballet on February 1 or the Valentine Cabaret on February 13.  If you or your organization would like to donate, please check out their active online fundraiser, and of course they can accept donations at all of their events.  This is an important part of Eastern Shore history, especially in Pocomoke, but provides entertainment for families throughout the area.

I’m not one to push religion, but the Walk Through Bethlehem at Lynnhaven Baptist Church in Pocomoke is one of my most favorite holiday activities.  We’ve done it twice, and the kids are already asking if we’re going back this year (Of course!).  It’s not a play, but an interactive, unique, outdoor experience that’s FREE with refreshments available.  Get there early, because lines tend to form outside once inside the church is full.  Did I mention there are live animals—even a camel?!  See page 4 for more details, dates and contact information.

8 bottles purex detergent, 1 bag purex detergent packs & 2 wet one wipes containers total retail = $64.12. Total after sale/coupons = $9.54!

The Purex was on sale B1G2 FREE, and I had several coupons $1.50/ and 50c/1 that I combined for each set of 4 bottles.  The Wet Ones were B1G1 and I had $1/2 coupon for those.  I also had a $5 Up Reward from last week's Tide deal.
