Check out my new shirt!

My new favorite shirt:
This shirt was FREE compliments of Vista Print. All I paid was for the shipping, which was around $5. I can't wait to wear it out shopping! I'm thinking of having some made for hubby's charter fishing business as well.

Be a Smart Shopper--part II

I recently posted about what items you can save on during certain months of the year, but here are some items that you can save on throughout the year.

Airline tickets—Check for the best deals on Wednesday morning, when sites post their new deals

CDs/DVDs—New releases come out on Tuesdays, and many stores offer a discounted price during that first week

Groceries—Try to hit the store in the early morning, or late evening when the crowds are smaller. Avoid lunchtime and from 430-630p when people are grabbing things for dinner while on their way home from work. Also, go early in the week to get sale items before they run out of stock.

Movie tickets—Go before 5p to get matinee pricing.

Jewelry—Avoid peak selling seasons of Valentines Day & Mother’s Day.

Attention All You subscribers

From ALL YOU editor, Clare McHugh:

Last month a few ALL YOU subscribers wrote to me to say how unhappy they were that more coupons appeared in the newsstand version of the magazine than in the copy they received in their mailbox. I agreed—as did my colleagues—that this was not ideal. Subscribers are our loyal customers and we certainly don’t want them to feel short-changed. We are currently reviewing our policies about accepting coupon advertising, with a goal of more closely aligning the coupon value in our newsstand and subscriber editions. Because we work several months in advance, however, the newsstand edition of the June issue includes an extra booklet with $12.50 worth of coupons. The two editions are otherwise the same in terms of coupon value.

If you are a subscriber and you would like to receive this booklet you can email subsvcs@allyou.customersvc.com.
Please include in your e-mail:
1) Your account number, found on the mailing label just above your name and address. It is nine digits and is usually located between two asterisks, for example *123456789*
2) Your name and address as it appears on the mailing label
3) Your e-mail address
4) A specific mention that you are looking for the “Coupon book from the June issue of All You.”

Check out June’s coupons for a total savings of $112.55! Pick up a copy of the June issue at your local Walmart:

Walgreens deals 5/10-5/16/09

I haven’t been able to do much with Walgreens since they ended their Easy Saver rebate program, but here’s what I’ve managed to find this week.

Pepsi product 12 packs

5/$12 with in ad coupon

Colgate toothbrushes or Max Fresh/Max White toothpaste $2.99

You will earn a $2.99 register reward, so it’s like getting it for FREE

Use a $1 manuf to make it a money maker!

Roots of Nature hair care $6

You will earn a $6 register reward, so it’s like getting it for FREE!

Iceland Health Omega 3 fish oil $8

You will earn a $8 register reward, so it’s like getting it for FREE!

Bayer Diabetes Monitors $14.99

Use $30 manuf coupon to get it for FREE + you will receive a $5 register reward, which makes it a money maker! This deal runs all month long.

Bayer Quick Release crystals $2.99

Use this $1.50 IP to make it a money maker, and I think this deal runs all month long

AXE items are 25% off & if you buy 3 AXE products you earn 1 movie ticket, buy 5 and earn 2 movie tickets. You will get a Catalina at the register with instructions as to how to print out the movie tickets online. The sale excludes trial/travel sizes, but I don’t know if the movie ticket deal does (it says ANY Axe product, so I would think they work).

Rite Aid deals 5/11-5/16/09

Doesn’t look like there’s much going on at Rite Aid this week.

Post cereals are BOGO, which might be cost worthy if you printed out the coupons that were available a few weeks back. Without knowing the regular price & what they have in stock that matches my coupons, I can’t tell whether or not I’ll be taking advantage of this deal.

Use 2 $1 manuf coupons = 2/$3

Product Review: Resolve Triple Action

If you have kids like me, then you’re sure to have clothes with stains on them like I used to. I say used to not because my kids have outgrown the spill stage (do they ever?!), but because I have found a product that works wonders in removing stains from clothes.

Resolve Triple Action stain remover is designed to lift stains from fabric, even after they’ve set in. We’ve used it on our carpet for pet stains, and also on clothes. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve washed one of my daughter’s shirts that has a stain around the collar, thrown it in the dryer, and then end up throwing it away after it’s dry because the stain is still there, and I knew there was nothing that was going to get it out after going through a cycle in the dryer. Those days are gone now.

The first time I used Resolve Triple Action, I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised when I put some on a fresh stain, before it was ever washed. After being washed just once, on a regular setting, and with other clothes, it was like the stain never even existed. Well, I thought I’d put it to the test to see how it worked on set in stains, so I grabbed a different shirt with a stain that had previously been treated, washed and dried, but didn’t remove the stain. Amazingly, after being treated with Resolve Triple Action stain remover and 1 regular cycle wash with other clothes, the stain was completely gone! I couldn’t have been more surprised.

If you’re looking for a stain remover that’s tough on stains but without ruining your clothes, carpet or fabric, then I suggest you try Resolve Triple Action stain remover. You’ll never spend money on another stain remover again! Don't be afraid, go ahead, try it for yourself. There is a $1 manuf coupon out there and this satisfaction guarantee, which I doubt you'll have to use.

Allergy Season

Allergy Season is officially in full swing here on the Eastern Shore. I'm not allergic to many things, however, this spring my allergies seem to be flaring up much worse than they have in the past 5 years. As a result, I had to go to the doctor today for a sinus infection. I couldn't get into my regular doctor, so I headed to one of the local immediate care walk in centers. Luckily, I was the only person there, so I didn't have to wait long (Thank goodness, because I swear my head felt like it was going to explode!). The doc checked me out and before I left I was given a prescription for an antibiotic and Nasonex. But, he was also nice enough to give me a sample size of the Nasonex as well, which included a $15 coupon I could use when actually filling the script.

Since I was already getting another filled, I got the Nasonex filled too. The co-pay was $15, so I got it for FREE when I gave the pharmacist the coupon from the sample size box. How exciting!!! Who knew there were such great coupons out there for meds! The doc also said you can go to the Nasonex website to print out more. Sure enough, he was right! Here's a link.

KFC coupon debacle

Apparently with Oprah's "blessing" of this product, there was an overwhelming response to the coupon redemption, and KFC has suspended their accepting of it. However, if you had a chance to print it out, not to worry, they will still honor it, but in the form of a raincheck. All you have to do is take your coupon into a KFC, fill out a small form & turn it back in, with your coupons attached. Your rain check will be for the meal + a drink, which the coupon didn't include. You can go here for more details. Each household is able to redeem 4 coupons for rain checks. Reportedly, there are still some KFC locations honoring the coupon, so you might just get surprised when you go in for a rain check & are still able to redeem your coupon.

**EDIT: Amiyrah over at 4 Hats and Frugal has been so kind as to post a PDF/scanned version of the form you must fill out and attach your coupons to in order to receive the raincheck. It can be found here.
