With the warmer weather of the summer season comes the majority of local festivals and carnivals. The 9th annual Pork in the Park BBQ Festival is being held this weekend at Winterplace Park in Salisbury. There are TONS of food vendors who serve a little bit of everything, from chicken to seafood, and of course BBQ, live music, games for the kids, and a GREAT family atmosphere.

The 30th annual Salisbury Festival is next weekend in the Downtown & Riverwalk Park areas. The Block Party is Friday from 4-11pm, and the Craft Beer tasting event is Saturday from 2-6pm. FREE admission and parking are offered all weekend.

The Hebron Carnival begins on May 23 and runs through July 14, featuring rides and games, famous oyster sandwiches, homemade crab cakes, candy apples and MUCH more! The kitchen opens nightly at 630pm and rides begin at 715pm. A $4 coupon can be found in the inside cover of Frugals.

On May 26 & 27, there is a Spring Arts & Crafts fair at the Ocean City Convention Center featuring vendors and artists from 7 states, food, jewelry, nautical items, candles, wood crafts and much more! There is FREE admission to this event.

The 2012 Cypress Festival in Pocomoke runs from June 13-16 in Cypress Park, along the scenic Pocomoke River. Rides, games, contest, live music, food, entertainment and arts/crafts are just a few of the many things you can do here. A complete schedule of events can be found on their website.

The Chincoteague Blueberry Festival is slotted to be July 20-22 at the Chincoteague Center from 9a-430pm. It’s known as the largest fine arts and crafts show in the Eastern Shore of Virginia, including music & food, fun stuff for the kids, ultimate blueberry pie, and fresh blueberries to soothe your palate. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for kids, but there is a $1 coupon for adults in the magazine.

Yet another fun family gathering in Chincoteague is the 87th annual Chincoteague Fireman’s Carnival which runs from June 29th through August 4th. FREE admission for all, but there is a fee to ride the rides and play games. A $3 coupon good on a ride wristband can be found on the inside rear cover of the publication.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13. There are several coupons good towards items I’m sure any mom would love to receive (including me!). For example, The Parlor (Court Plaza, Salisbury, MD) offers 10% off any service, and you can even book your appointment online. Bella Blu Salon (Harbor Pointe Plaza, Salisbury, MD) offers $ off any service valued at $20 or more. If mom isn’t the girly girl type, and would rather get her hands dirty, Adkins Farm Market offers $5 off your purchase of $40 or more. A fruit basket from Edible Arrangements is a safe bet for almost anyone. Save $4 on any order using code SMGR0575. Or, if mom is always complaining about not being organized enough, call Inner Voice Organizing to help her prepare for an upcoming yard sale, or sort & organize her closet.

Summer means that schools are no longer in session, which means that many parents are frantically trying to find something for their kids to do during the week…There are several different camps in the area, many of which can be found in Frugals.

Wicomico Day School offers students entering 1st-3rd grades a chance to participate in a theme-based camp including weekly field trips. Students entering 4-7th grades have the opportunity to choose from 10 exciting week long camps including themes like photography, forensic science, scrapbooking, computer gaming, cooking, and art. A coupon good for FREE registration and a shirt can be located in the publication.

The local YMCA in your area is yet another valuable outlet for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. They offer a $10 coupon valid on a camp session of your choice or a $5 coupon good towards a program of your choice.

As you can see, the Spring 2012 edition of the Frugals magazine is yet again jam packed full of a variety of savings for just about everyone. Pick one up at your favorite retailer today!
